I received this deluxe sample from Sephora, as I am now a Beauty Enthusiast! This rice enzyme powder is formulated with pearl and papaya extracts! These ingredients aid in reducing the appearance of pores, evens out skin tone and hyper-pigmentation, as well as minimizes breakouts.
My mom actually told me how back in Taiwan, her family would use the starch water from washing rice as a face cleanse. She mentioned how it helped smooth, soften, clear, and brighten their skin! I’m actually surprised at all of the benefits that rice can bring to the skin.
The Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is made for normal/combination skin. It’s also the second step of the Kyoto Cleanse. The first step is a cleansing oil. Both of the products together work wonderfully for the skin, keeping it moisturized and clean. I haven’t had the opportunity to use their Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, but I do have other cleansing oils that pair so nicely with this powder.
On a side note, I’ve never used a powder as a cleanser, but it was actually a very pleasant experience. As the directions mentioned, you rinse your face with some water and make sure your hands are wet. Then you place a bit of the powder into your hands and rub it onto your face. The powder is water-activated and turns into a creamy liquid. The product has you feeling clean and reveals baby-soft skin.
Overall, I really like this powder. I incorporated it into my daily night routine, using it directly after a cleansing oil (similar to the Kyoto Cleanse). I’m not too sure of the exfoliating factor, as the powder doesn’t really give the feel of a scrub that I’m normally used to with exfoliators, but it definitely leaves your skin clean and super soft.
I’ve been using the powder for several days and my face is so much smoother now. I haven’t experienced any breakouts either which is a major plus! If you get the chance, check out this product! It won’t let you down.
