Bringing out my inner princess in this gown from Andrea & Leo Couture.
Growing up, I wanted to be a Disney princess. I remember each Halloween, I was a different one: Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Ariel, Tinker Bell, and so forth. And yes, I dreamed of a prince charming to sweep me off of my feet haha!
By the time I got a little older, Cheetah Girls came out and I went through a phase of “I don’t need a man.” The song Cinderella was on repeat (and also now stuck in my head). Then Princess Diaries changed my mind and I was back into the fairytale world, except now that it involved “real people” (not cartoons), I was convinced it could happen.
Fast forward to today. While I didn’t exactly become a princess and got inducted into royalty, I did get an opportunity to feel like one in this shoot. Mind you, yes, it’s winter in New York so it wasn’t the warmest, but I was able to pull it off. My vision involved a location that was fitting for the gown. My first thought was the Belvedere Castle in Central Park, however, it turns out that it’s under construction until May 2019!
The next best location was Bethesda Terrace, also in Central Park. It featured columns and arches that made it look like a

I used a tiara that I had worn for my sister’s wedding. I thought it was the perfect touch to complete my princess look since the delicate flowers made for the perfect little “crown”. You can also bet that there were tons of twirling!
