Orange you glad to see me?
It’s another Wednesday, which means another hump day, which means a brand new post by muah. Isn’t that eggciting? I’m kicking this week off with yet another Eggie piece: this orange oversized shirt.
As you may have guessed, color is not really something I dive into a lot. I’ve definitely been trying to incorporate more color into my feed and figured the first step would be to indulge in a bold piece. I literally sat at my computer screen debating between the black or white version of this t-shirt… LOL so typical right? The back of my mind and inner shewolf was like screw the minimalism, GO BOLD OR GO HOME. So I bit the bullet and got the orange one and honestly, I feel like I did myself a favor because it is PERF for October. Totally feeling the Halloween vibes in this number.
Since Fall is upon us, I am a complete sucker for oversized things: shirts, sweaters, hoodies, sweater dresses, name it all. When I saw Jenn Im come out with this top and the extra oversized sleeves, I was like automatic win! Styled with a cinched belt, some OTK’s and even shades, I figured it made such a simple yet street style worthy outfit. Did I hit that mark?
Wait, what the fork? Are you at the beach!?!??!?!?!
LOL. Yes. I am. I’m at the beach because when I shot this outfit, it ended up being high 70s low 80s and NYC took us on a spin for some summer weather. Talk about going backward. Surprisingly enough, the beginning of this shoot was pretty gloomy, but as I continued, the sun came out to play. Maybe because it saw the orange and didn’t want to be outshined HAH.
See? Sun totally came out to say hello. It was great because a) everyone on the boardwalk were like look at this chic, what is she wearing to the beach? and then b) I was shooting in shades when there was no sun. Definitely felt more badass with the rays beating down on me…simultaneously making me stand out even more. This definitely threw me out of my comfort zone but I’m happy to report that I worked the orange like it was the new black and flaunted it (the shades certainly helped).
Certainly happy to take some risks and just go with things. Hope this is the start to wearing more bold colors, patterns, prints, and textures.
