IMAJI’s All About Those Slits

I am a sucker for anything colored black…especially a lengthy black piece. As mentioned in my previous posts, I have this thing for lengthy pieces this upcoming Fall (and apparently so does everyone else because I’m sure you see it’s #trending). But a lengthy black piece with slits?! Can we get any crazier than that?

Alright, so I’m sure I don’t have to say this twice, but lately I’ve really been one with nature with all my posts including trees. There’s nothing wrong with that, right? Nature is all around us and should definitely be appreciated. I remember back in my early days of starting out, I definitely had a shoot with me leaning on a tree. I even used it in one of my recent posts Indigo Mosaic Hues with IMAJI and guess what!? This top is also from IMAJI Studio!

I’m sure you saw their aesthetic with raw dyes and unique imperfect patterns in my previous post but what’s great about IMAJI is that they also incorporate unique twists on everyday looks. Don’t be fooled, this  Monochrome Maxi Top is also dyed and it definitely puts a spin on the classic maxi.

The slits are very defined and high in waist which makes the top so sleek. Taking a very basic look, IMAJI made it stand out as a bold statement bringing all the attention to those slits. Pairing it with a nice pair of black leggings, I made sure to keep the look clean and simple.  I slipped on some heeled flats to give it a little extra, but the top does all the talking!

Aside from the obvious black, lengthy, and slit-tastic characteristics, I think my favorite part about this top is…well the top. The dash of white is a small but important part of the overall look. The transparency adds extra oomph to the bold yet simple look.

What is your opinion? Would you sport this top?
